Apart from geopolitical and macroeconomic challenges, the retail sector is facing technological disruption. This is not to say that brick-and-mortar is dead, nor that digital players like Amazon will dominate. Instead, managers need to learn how to manage multiple channels and create high-fidelity, magnetic consumer engagement.
